Could be having Symptoms of Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is one of the prevalent conditions around world and mostly, associated with tobacco or cigarette smoking. The truth behind this type of cancer is that it can be caused by a varied number of reasons and not necessarily smoking whereby even non-smokers can get such a diagnosis. Therefore, it is advisable to get medical check-up at least once a year to arrest the condition before it spreads or becomes malignant especially if it is a malignant type.

One of the many factors that we need to know about lung cancer is that it is as a result of mutation of cells whereby instead of cells dying naturally they continue multiplying forming a lump around an area. Therefore, it can either be malignant whereby it spreads to other parts of the body or benign where the abnormal growth of cells are localized or are in one place. In addition, the condition can either be primary or secondary where primary cancer originates from the lung or the original site of abnormal growth of cells and secondary cancer is a cancer that originates from other parts of the body but metastized to the lungs. This also indicates that a good scan can tell what types of cancer it is and assists in know if you have symptoms of lung cancer.

Some of the symptoms of lung cancer include, persistent cough that grows worse and usually followed by blood in the sputum, chest pain, breathing issues, unexplained weight loss and persistent bronchitis. Most of these symptoms are also signs of respiratory congestion and symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath are quite common. It is advisable to seek medical help in case you develop such symptoms but they should not necessarily mean you have lung cancer because there are illnesses that mimic symptoms of lung cancer. Illnesses such as Tuberculosis (TB) have similar signs of lung cancer meaning a medical test is necessary to verify what ailment one has.

Otherwise, in the event the lung cancer is the malignant type it can spread to other places creating other symptoms. For instance, if it metastasizes to the nervous system then a person may experience shoulder pains, paralysis of the throat or other regions in the direct path of the lungs. Most of the time, one may develop other aches and other symptoms if lung cancer is the malignant type. On the other hand, not many may notice any of these symptoms at first because the symptoms of lung cancer can be mild. In fact, it is only a regular medical check-up that will ensure that the lung cancer does not develop to stage II otherwise; at times symptoms are more obvious at stage III or IV.
